The rail and metro have emerged as the lifeline of urban cities, and in a city like Gurgaon, they are indeed the dire need for fast economic growth and rapid development—unavoidable, rather. After the metro came into existence in the national capital Delhi, the population and urban growth picked up superb momentum. The metro is now the lifeline, used by more than fifty percent of citizens. Similarly, a city like Gurgaon is the center of business and a real estate hub. This city connects large parts of south Haryana and adjoins Rajasthan as well. It has the potential to be developed as an urban corridor along the RRTS.
The RRTS project is being built between Delhi and Behror via Gurgaon by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) for better transportation in the NCR. This section is expected to provide superb growth to this city. The alignment plan has been changed, and now, instead of the Old Delhi road, this changed alignment would go along the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. It is a good move. Now, from Aerocity (Delhi), it will enter Gurgaon via Cyber City to Rajiv Chowk to Kherki Daula and Manesar. This new alignment is believed to cater to the transport needs of a large section of the city on both sides of NH 48. The NCRTC plan is to construct the corridor in phases.
Real estate experts believe the eagerly awaited Delhi-Behror Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project is set to become a game-changer in the urban connectivity landscape of the entire National Capital Region (NCR) cities, including Gurgaon. Among the numerous beneficiaries of this transformative infrastructure, Gurgaon emerges as a key player set to reap substantial socio-economic rewards. The alignment of the RRTS holds the promise of not only easing commuter woes but also catalyzing Gurgaon’s growth as a robust business and residential hub.
The NCR Planning Board has long been working on fast, seamless rail/metro connectivity in the national capital region. At the heart of the RRTS project is the commitment to streamline and accelerate transportation between major urban centers. The alignment passing through Gurgaon is a crucial link in this grand plan, as it seamlessly connects the city with Delhi and Behror. Commuters will witness a substantial reduction in travel time, transforming what was once a tedious journey into a swift and efficient commute.
